UPDATE: We'll finish reading Woods Runner this week. ALL the Reflections, Vocabulary, and Chapter Title Analysis is due by end of the school day Monday, 7 December. The photo below shows how it plays out, with changes in green. BIG test is moved to Tuesday, 8 December, over chapters 10-19.
... and we'll pick up Woods Runner on the other side of the holiday. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos from 7th period Monday when a cadet from the United States Military Academy at West Point came to JMS exclusively to talk to some 8th grade students. Do well; be excellent. We will continue reading, contemplating, and discussing Woods Runner by Gary Paulsen this week. We'll end the week on Friday with a test that will include vocabulary and reflections questions. The Reflections assignments and vocabulary for chapters 1-9 are also due this week.

We started this new six weeks with two easy writing assignments: (1) Revise your science project write-up, and (2) write a letter to a veteran. The particulars can be found on PEG Writing by following the link below.
Only two grades remain for this grading period: Poetry Slam performance (and major grade) and a second participation grade. For Poetry Slam: Rehearse, rehearse, practice, and rehearse... we'll finish up on Tuesday on Wednesday.
