After MLK Day on Monday, we'll finish up this round of grammar. Then, we transition to arguments and persuasion. Our JMS UIL Academic competition is Friday (an early release day), and many students will be completing events during the week. Here's how it looks in calendar format:

This week revolves around mid-term exams, with exam days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Exam classes last for an hour and 40 minutes, each. Monday we'll continue our review. Link to the review has been posted since last week; students can complete the review as many times as they like. Thursday of this week is a whole day of fun crammed into half a day, with early release at 1:05 p.m. Friday begins the Christmas Break. Here's how it looks in calendar format:
Open-book quiz on Jackie Robinson is due Monday at the end of class. Link to the quiz is in Google Classroom. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we'll explore the movie "42." Students without a permission slip will go to the library. Library Day Thursday. On Friday, we'll begin our Mid-Term review. Here's how it looks on the calendar.
This week, we begin considering the story of Jackie Robinson. We'll explore his story through various accounts and mediums, including documentary film, newspaper articles, an historical fiction film, a first-person written account, and a third-person written account.
We conclude our study of the novel The Boy on the Wooden Box this week. Test on Friday.
